Final Weekend Of Fall Clean Up Approaching

Fall Clean-Up

City of Houghton residents may bring the following items to the City Garage at the corner of Technical Avenue and Gundlach Road and dispose of them. There is no attendant present. Drop off is by self-serve only. Activities will be recorded by camera.

HOURS: September 30, 2016 to October 30, 2016: Friday 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sat. & Sun. 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

ALLOWED: Construction material (wood & brick) must be placed in the dumpsters provided. Wood lumber scraps must be in lengths under 4 feet. Leaves, small branches, and yard clippings. There are now 2 dedicated areas on the east side of the city salt storage building. One is for leaves and lawn waste. The other is for branches and tree trimming waste. Please follow the signs.

NOT ALLOWED: FURNITURE, CLOTHES, METAL, TIRES, CARDBOARD, PAINT & EMPTY CANS, HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE, LIGHTBULBS OF ANY TYPE No fee will be charged. ***************************************************************** ATTENTION: SENIORS (65 YEARS & OLDER) & DISABLED RESIDENTS LIVING IN SINGLE-FAMILY HOMES:

If you are unable to deliver your items to the garage, the City will pick it up at your residence if you call ahead and provide your name and address. Items may not be left at the curb side. You must keep it on your own property until we can pick it up.

Please call 482-1700 to put your name on the list. Items will be picked up on Friday, October 14 & Friday October 28, 2016.
