How close is the start of the school year?
The CLK School District just held its last Board of Education meeting of the summer.
At Tuesday’s meeting, the board extended their appreciation to Dave Heinz and Lori Weir for receiving the “Judy Watson Olson Education Award” from the Great Lakes Center for Youth Development and $500 to be used for the Calumet High School Drama Club.
The board also reviewed the low bid from River Valley Bank for the borrowing of $1.5 million for the 2016-17 school year for operational purposes at .89%.
Some things students will be thankful for at lunchtime–the board accepted bids for milk from Jilbert’s Dairy, pizza from Little Caesar’s and bread from Bimbo Bakeries.
Keeping it local, the board authorized the intent to use local contractors for all construction projects for the upcoming school year.
Students return to school Tuesday, September 6th, the board meets again on September 13th.
