Ferry Services To Isle Royale National Park from Minnesota Coming

HOUGHTON, MICH. –  Isle Royale National Park  is soliciting proposals for the award of a Concession Contract to provide ferry transportation service from Grand Portage, Minnesota to the park.  The ferry must make the trip from Grand Portage across Lake Superior to Windigo, circumnavigate Isle Royale and make stops at several trailheads and paddling embarkation points, and provide a stop at Rock Harbor.  The concession contract will be for a term of 10 years beginning on its effective date, which is estimated to be January 1, 2019.

A Prospectus explaining the business opportunity, the terms and conditions under which the National Park Service will award the concession contract, the proposal instructions, and the proposal package (including the selection factors) was released on June 7.  Proposals are due on September 25, 2018.
