The Feeding America West Michigan mobile food pantry returns to Ontonagon today.
The Pantry will set up at the Ontonagon Village Fire Hall at noon, with a variety of foods, including fresh produce and dairy items. They’ll bring enough for around 300 families.
Service will be provided in a drive-through format on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Pantry’s visit is underwritten by the Portage Health Foundation. Spokesman Mike Babcock says they’re getting help from Ontonagon area kids…
Those who attend will not have to show identification or proof of income. They will be required to provide basic contact information and affirm that they are in need of food.
The Portage Health Foundation and Feeding America West Michigan have also announced plans to bring the Food Pantry back to Ontonagon on June 16th, September 7th and December 15th. Details on those events will be released as they get closer.
