Father’s Day Flood Anniversary Series

One year ago, the Copper Country was hit with what has been described as a 1,000 year storm when over six inches of rain fell in just a few hours. The rushing waters devastated the lives and landscape of local residents and would soon be remembered as the Father’s Day Flood.

In this special 10-part series, the Keweenaw Report looks back at the impact of that storm and, more importantly, how the community rallied together to help their friends and neighbors recover and what’s being done to protect residents in the future.
