False Bomb Threat at GCC-Ironwood

A bomb threat received yesterday afternoon at Gogebic Community College’s Ironwood campus proved to be a hoax.

Officials were notified of the threat around 3:20. A search of the facilities turned up no explosives.

A release from the Michigan State Police notes that similar threats were received at other colleges and universities across the state. All turned out to be hoaxes.

GCC officials say normal operations will resume this morning.

State Police investigators from the Wakefield post are continuing the investigation.
