Memorial Day weekend has arrived and it’s time to get outdoors and Experience the Keweenaw.
The Portage Health Foundation is hosting the weekend-long series of events that includes hiking, biking and kayaking activities throughout the four-county area.

A luncheon takes place today, focused on Community Collaboration and Outdoor recreation as a component of the local economy.
Later tonight, there is a kickoff event at the Continental Fire Company in Houghton, which includes a Tap Takeover by Blackrock’s Brewery and speaker Hansi Johnson from Duluth, MN will be sharing his experiences in combining outdoor recreation and economic development.
An expo is being held tomorrow at Dee Stadium with vendors, speakers, demos, live music and more throughout the day.
The weekend wraps up Sunday in Copper Harbor with Taste of the Harbor.
