Escanaba Man Seriously Hurt in Crash

A 51-year-old Escanaba man was badly injured in a two-vehicle crash in Delta County Friday morning.

State Police troopers say a pickup truck that was southbound on M-69 near 14th Road in Ford River Township crossed the center line, and crashed head-on into a northbound sedan.

The driver of the sedan was airlifted to UP Health System-Marquette, and was reported to be in critical condition.

The driver of the pickup, a 38-year-old Gladstone man, was treated for minor injuries at OSF Hospital in Escanaba. He has been arrested, and is being held in the Delta County jail.

The investigation into the crash continues. Troopers say alcohol and drugs are suspected to have been a factor.
