Escanaba Man Killed in Pickup Crash

An Escanaba man was killed in a traffic crash Sunday afternoon in Gladstone.

Delta County Sheriff’s deputies responded just after noon to US-2, just south of South Hill Road.

They found that two pick-up trucks had collided head-on.

Investigators say one of the trucks, driven by 81-year-old Kenneth Arnold of Cornell, apparently had a tire blow out. That caused the truck to cross the median into oncoming traffic, where it hit the other truck.

The driver of the other truck, 55-year-old Michael Englund of Escanaba, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Arnold was airlifted to UP Health System-Marquette. His condition has not been released.

An investigation continues.
