Eagle Harbor Man Facing Nine Felonies In Child Porn Investigation

UPDATE: Name Released–61-year-old Michael Thomas Braman of Eagle Harbor was arraigned Monday in 97th District Court in Keweenaw County on nine felony charges related to a child pornography investigation.

A Keweenaw County man is facing multiple child porn charges.

Deputies from the Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 61-year-old Eagle Harbor man on Sunday on a nine count felony warrant, authorized by the Keweenaw County Prosecutor.

The charges include three counts of Child Sexually Abusive Activity, each a 20 year felony and/or up to a $100,000 fine, three counts of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime, each a 20-year felony up to life in prison and/or a $20,000 fine, and three counts of Child Sexually Abusive Material—Aggravated Possession, each a 10 year felony and/or a $50,000 fine.

Deputies conducted an investigation over several months with assistance from the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit.

The suspect is charged with knowingly possessing child sexually abusive material involving prepubescent children and sadomasochistic abuse or bestiality, and possessing more than 100 images of child sexually abusive material.

The suspect will be arraigned on all charges in the 97th District Court.
