Driver Hits Power Pole In Adams Township, Flees Scene

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident that happened in Adams Township Monday night.

Authorities say a pickup truck hit a power pole on Erickson Drive near Old Mill Hill Road around 7pm.  The driver of the pickup fled the scene so deputies were unable to immediately determine who was driving the vehicle.

The accident caused a power outage and UPPCO responded to the scene to restore power to the area.  North Erickson Drive had to be closed from M-26 to Atlantic Avenue for a period of time.
