Donations Being Accepted For 2nd Annual Justin Fitch Memorial Ruck

Every day, 22 veterans take their own lives.

Michigan Tech’s ROTC is doing what they can to save the lives of those veterans.

Tech Today reports that a memorial ruck march, honoring Michigan Tech 2005 graduate Justin Fitch, is scheduled for Saturday, September 23rd.

The 2nd annual event will begin at the Chutes and Ladders in Ray Kestner Waterfront Park in Houghton from noon to 4pm.

Fitch was a retired Army major who fought for public awareness of veteran’s issues and sadly lost his battle with cancer in 2015.

The goal of this march is to raise awareness for veterans who suffer from PTSD and to raise funds to support Active Heroes; an organization dedicated to providing support to veterans who suffer from mental illnesses.

To donate, visit their website or Facebook page, “Carry the Fallen–Houghton.”
