The Dollar Bay-Tamarack City Area Schools held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction project which voters had approved last August.
New additions include an office at the main entrance, a new alarm system and the replacement of exterior doors on the building.
Other improvements include a kitchen certified for food prep, updated boiler controls and a new parking lot.
The construction is expected to continue into the Winter, but the parts necessary for the school to reopen, will be done by the time the 2021 school year starts.
Andrew Kemper of Moyle Construction said they’re grateful for the opportunity to showcase our team’s talent on such an exciting project within the local community.
