Dianda Sworn In For Third State House Term

dianda-sworn-inLANSING—State Rep. Scott Dianda (D-Calumet) was sworn in Wednesday beginning his third and final term, due to term limits, at the official opening of the 99th session of the Michigan House of Representatives at the state Capitol in Lansing.

“I’m honored to once again serve the residents of House District 110 at the state Capitol,” said Dianda. “There’s work to do to help support our U.P. businesses and create more good-paying jobs for our residents, ensure that our families and students can access the resources they need, and keep the unique needs of the U.P. in the minds of lawmakers. I’m ready to get to work with my colleagues.”

In his first two terms, Dianda fought for proposals to improve U.P. communities, including tax relief for middle-class families, helped get a state of emergency declaration after brutally cold temperatures caused frozen and burst water pipes in many U.P. communities, fought for fair distribution of Michigan Department of Transportation road funding, introduced proposals to deal with the dark store problem that drains tax dollars from local governments, introduced legislation to ensure U.P. energy needs are met, and fought to hold government officials accountable to taxpayers.

“I will continue fighting for common sense proposals to move the U.P. and Michigan forward,” said Dianda. “I also encourage people to contact me with their thoughts and ideas through email, my website or by phone. My staff and I are always ready to hear new ideas and to offer our help to people trying to navigate their way through state government.”

Dianda’s House District 110 covers the western Upper Peninsula counties of Keweenaw, Houghton, Ontonagon, Gogebic, Iron and Baraga as well as part of Marquette County. Dianda can be contacted toll-free by phone at (888) 663-4031, by email at ScottDianda@house.mi.gov and through his website at www.dianda.housedems.com.
