Dianda Congratulates Little Brothers On 35 Years

Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly has been assisting local seniors for 35 years.

A gala celebrating those three and a half decades was held Saturday in Houghton.

State Representative Scott Dianda issued a statement commemorating the anniversary of the Upper Michigan Chapter of Little Brothers.

Dianda said the assistance and companionship they offer the elderly residents of Houghton, Keweenaw, Ontonagon, Baraga and Marquette Counties is invaluable as many do not have the social support we all need as we age.

He noted they have recruited more than 1,300 volunteers who have worked tirelessly over the years to offer love, respect and dignity to the people they serve.

Finally, Dianda added this special Tribute celebrates their rich history of serving our communities and sends them our thanks and best wishes for their continuing work serving our elderly citizens.
