The Houghton County Fair is nearing and the fair office at the Houghton County Arena will now have extended hours–open from noon to 4pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
The office will be open from 9am to 7pm on Wednesday, which is the deadline for the paperwork for all animal registration and 4-H Club exhibits.
The office will be open from 9am to 6pm on Friday and is the deadline for registering Adult Open and Youth Open still exhibits and the discounted rate for Demolition Derby participants.
A $5 late fee will be assessed for late entries after these deadlines.
Exhibitors can also register for classes online at www.houghtoncountyfair.com.
Exhibitor tags will be pre-printed and ready for pickup on Monday afternoon and evening, or when exhibits are dropped off on Tuesday, August 23rd from 4pm to 7pm, or Wednesday, August 24th from 9am to 1pm in the Exhibit Building. Judging for the indoor departments will begin at 1:30pm and the building will be closed.
The fair board will meet at 6pm on Monday, August 22nd, followed by a work bee. Superintendents are encouraged to attend.
The Houghton County Fair will open at 3pm on Thursday, August 25th and will close on Sunday, August 28th at 5pm.
Exhibits can be picked up until 6pm in the Exhibit Building and the following week in the fair office during office hours.
