Deadline For Writing Contest Approaching

The Dixon Ticonderoga Writers’ Group (DTWG) announces its latest writing contest for high school students in Houghton and Keweenaw Counties.

The Rules

The writing should be your best original work, and must be word-processed with standard formatting (consult your teacher!).  Your name CANNOT appear on the writing itself.  Attach the completed DTWG Entry Form (this is the only place where your name and identifying information should appear) to the submission.

Students must be enrolled in a Houghton or Keweenaw County high school (grades 9-12).  Students may submit only one entry per category (up to three poems), but may submit in more than one category.  A completed entry form must accompany each category, i.e., if you submit a story and three poems you must complete two entry forms.

Fiction:               not to exceed 2,000 words

Essay:                  not to exceed 1,200 words

Poetry:               not to exceed 40 lines per poem

 

Entries must be postmarked by Friday, April 6, 2018.

Awards for each category (Fiction, Essay, Poetry):

1st place:  $50.00, 2nd place:  $25.00.

Winners will be notified in April.
