Crash Temporarily Closes M-26

A car accident in Adams Township led to M-26 being closed for a short time on Tuesday.

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office says the two-car crash happened just before noon near Erickson Drive.

A vehicle driven by a 37 year old woman from Atlantic Mine was turning into Moyle Concrete and Supply when she was rear-ended by a pickup truck driven by a 22 year old man, heading southbound on M-26.

The man was transported to U.P. Health System- Portage by Mercy Ambulance for treatment of his injuries.

His condition was not reported.

Assisting on the scene was the Houghton Police Department, The Michigan State Police, and the Adams Township First Responders.
