COVID Spotlight Turns Back to Gogebic County

The COVID-19 focus in the Western Upper Peninsula is swinging back to Gogebic County.

The latest report released by the Western Upper Peninsula Health Department shows 59 more confirmed positives and 38 more probable positives in the five-county region. 24 of the confirmed positives and 35 of the probables came from Gogebic County.

Houghton County had just 18 confirmed positives and three probables. Ontonagon County had nine confirmed positives, Baraga County had seven, and Keweenaw County had three.

Since the last report was released October 15th, two more deaths were recorded – one in Houghton County, and one in Gogebic County.

104 more confirmed recoveries were reported in the region.

Since the pandemic began, 1,059 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed across the five counties. 13 of our neighbors have died.
