Michigan’s COVID-19 numbers continue to trend downward, but still have a long way to go.
The seven-day average of new diagnoses per day dropped to 3,311 yesterday, well under half of where it was when the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services issued its Epidemic Order last month.
Despite the falloff in diagnoses, the death level has remained relatively constant. The seven-day average is at 108 per day.
Since the pandemic began, more than 466,000 Michiganders have been infected, and 11,705 have died.
State figures show that Houghton County reported three cases Monday, and six on Tuesday. Baraga County recorded two on Monday, and three on Tuesday, after reporting none all of last week. Keweenaw County hasn’t reported a new case in a week, and Ontonagon County has reported only two in the past week.
