The effort to protect Michigan’s long-term health care facilities from COVID-19 is underway. Inoculations using the Moderna vaccine began yesterday. State officials say it should take about three weeks to administer the vaccine to around 91,000 residents and staff members at more than 5,000 facilities. They hope to inoculate 70 percent of Michiganders over the age of 16 by the end of 2021.
