Copper Country ISD is in need of a new superintendent.
This from their monthly Board of Education meeting last night.
George Stokero, who has served the last six years as superintendent, has turned in his resignation, which will take effect on June 30th of 2021.
The board is now faced with deciding if they should hire a firm to search for the new superintendent, or do it themselves.
Stokero said he’d like to see his replacement chosen by the end of February or early March.
In other board news, Adam Loukus was selected to fill the open seat on the board.
Adam is the president of Loukus Technologies and also co-founded REL Inc.
The board also approved the state’s PA-149 Extended COVID-19 Learning Plan, hired Heather Johnson as the new Health Careers /CNA Teaching Assistant, renewed the Cash Match Agreement with Michigan Rehab Services, approved HOSA Coordinators Amanda Hermanson and Lorie Maki and accepted resignations from William Green and Kristin Tervo.
