CALUMET, Mich. – Aspirus invites the community to check out its exciting, new fitness center in Calumet during a special open house celebration on Saturday, October 20.
From 9 a.m. to noon, the Aspirus Fitness Center, now located next to Campioni’s True Value off US Highway 41, will offer guided tours, free 30-minute fitness classes, prize drawings, membership specials, healthy snacks (including Café Rosetta), and more.
“We‘re excited for the community to see how this new location is designed to enhance your fitness experience,” said Fitness Supervisor Stacy Bussiere. “From the minute you walk through the doors the atmosphere is high-energy, motivating and supportive. It’s the kind of place you want to be to achieve your health and wellness goals.”
Aspirus Fitness Center moved to its new location from Hecla Street in Laurium in May. Exciting facility features include all new men’s and women’s locker rooms, showers and sauna areas; greater privacy and comfort for patients; and improved parking with easier, safer access. The location is also home to Aspirus Outpatient Therapies.
“If you haven’t been here yet this is a great time to come check it out,” Bussiere said. “We’re going to have specials on memberships for our current and new fitness center members. You can even try out a fitness class.”
Four 30-minute fitness classes – Pure Strength, Yoga, Fit Mix and TRX – will be offered free of charge during the open house. Class size is limited. Call 337-7000 to sign up for a class in advance. Fitness class descriptions can be found on online at aspirus.org.
In place of the fitness center’s annual holiday sale, they are offering membership specials to go along with the open house celebration. The specials are as follows:
The New Aspirus Fitness Annual Sale: All current members can receive a 15 percent off voucher to use at their membership renewal. The voucher is good for one year and can be picked up at the fitness center October 15 through 20.
New Member Discount Offer: New members can purchase a quarterly, three-month membership (regularly priced at $126) for $84. New members must sign up on Saturday, October 20, to receive the discount.
Aspirus Fitness Center offers something for all ages and fitness levels, including: flexible memberships, state-of-the-art equipment, fitness classes, and American Council on Exercise (ACE) and American College of Sports Medicine Certified personal trainers. The fitness center is a partner of the national Healthways SilverSneakers and Blue365 programs. These programs provide gym memberships at little or no cost as part of an insurance benefit included in many Medicare and Blue Cross plans.
