CLK School Board Meeting

Lot’s to report from the CLK School Board  meeting last night.

The board congratulated CLK Employees for their Chamber of Commerce Spark Plug Award win for “Project of the Year” and also commended their commitment to the Trauma Informed School Initiative.

The board  congratulated Molly Helminen, Courtney Kangus and Ada McDonald for being named valedictorians for the 2020 graduating class.

Students who took part in the Poetry Out Loud Competition were also recognized.

First Place finisher Serenity Snyder, goes on to the state competition.

Appreciation was given to Zackary Adler, for his donation of an Evans Drum set to the Music program along with Lieutenant Colonel Stephen Danis, who donated over $100,000 to JROTC Program.

There are also several students competing in the U.P Spelling Bee in Negaunee today.

5th grader Levi McDonald, 7th grader Liisa Ylitalo and 8th grader Audrey Erkkila.

The board accepted the bid from Keweenaw Automation for the Building Automation System.

They also accepted the bid from Interkal Spectator Seating, for new bleachers.
