CLK Board Meeting

The Calumet-Laurium-Keweenaw Board of Education had lots to cover at their monthly meeting Tuesday evening.

March 2nd thru the 6th was declared National Breakfast Week, and they congratulated Food Service staff for their hard work and loyal service to the school district.

Multiple students who were part of this year’s regional HOSA competition, were also honored and the Board wished them well, as they head onto the State competition next month. 

Students who took part in the Washington Middle School Winter Music Program, along with Director Ryan Watt were also honored.

Mr Watt, and the students who took part in the Tree of Love ceremony at Aspirus last December, were also thanked for their service.

The Board also thanked the Portage Health Foundation for their $5,000 donation to Horizons Alternative High School.

They also appointed Chelsea Jacques as Girl’s Track Coach in the Middle School. Lea Bjorn is the new coach for the Girl’s Volleyball Team in the Middle School,  and a one year pilot program for the Dual Sport Proposal for Spring Sports in 2020 was approved.
