The Portage Lake District Library will host Two Harbors, Minnesota resident and author Katya Gordon for a reading and discussion about her latest book, Climate Change Musings and Studies from Lake Superior’s North Shore on Thursday, February 14 at 5pm.
Gordon’s book is intended to help regular people in the northland connect the dots between climate change and what they see happening around them – and then see themselves as agents of change. She will also show slides of her sailing life with Sea Change Expeditions, including the things she’s learned while sailing Lake Superior.
Katya Gordon is a newspaper columnist for the Lake County Chronicle and a radio show host for KTWH, The Two Harbors Community Radio Station.
Her book, Big Waves, Small Board Two Kids (2012) was a nominee for the Northern Minnesota Book Awards (NEMBA). She lives with her husband and two daughters on the North Shore of Lake Superior and sails its waters from May to October. Her blog is www.gordonsailing.typepad.com
