Classic Cars Hit The Road This Saturday

Phoio by Keweenaw Cruisers-‎2017 End O’ the Road Keweenaw Tour & Car Show

It’s the end of the road for more than 100 classic cars this Saturday, and there will be a lot of people celebrating it.

It’s the 16th annual End O’ The Road Keweenaw Tour and Car Show, beginning with a cruise from Calumet to Copper Harbor.

Participants will gather in the parking lot at Campioni’s True Value on US-41 just south of Calumet.

Then at noon, they will cruise up the north shore on M-26 to the harbor for the show from 1:00-6:00pm.

Keweenaw Cruisers John Sima says then they close down US-41 right through Copper Harbor.  “Well have live music by Reign, a local band from Calumet,” said Sima.  “They’ll play from 2:00-6:00pm, and then awards will be at 6:00. We have several categories, so if you have a Model A up to a brand new Corvette, we’ll find a class for you. If you want to bring your car up or you just want to look at the cars, we’d love to see you up there.”

All of the proceeds from the show go to support Keweenaw Random Acts of Kindness, a local non-profit organization.

KRACK’s Kim Kaura says the group’s mission is to provide relief for the poor, the distressed, and the underprivileged in the community.  “We saw a need to help out our local community members,” Kaura said.  “We want to see them be able to get medication and food and not have to choose between the two. Sometimes, we’ll pay some utility bills or travel expenses when you have to travel out of the area for medical reasons.”

Those needing to apply for assistance from KRACK can print off an application from their website at https://www.keweenawrack.com/.
