The MTEC Smartzone was established in 2002 and is part of a network of Smartzones throughout Michigan.
The business accelerator works with Michigan Tech and other agencies to help grow local high tech companies and inspire entrepreneurism.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation recently approved a 15-year extension in funding for the Smartzone.
Clark has helped the Smartzone create over 700 jobs in the Copper Country since its inception.
