City of Houghton Seeks Commission Members

The City of Houghton is looking to fill vacancies on several commissions.

Terms on the Planning Commission, the Housing Commission, and the Downtown Development Authority/Tax Increment Finance Authority begin January 1, 2023.

To serve on the planning commission, the applicant must be a qualified elector of the city or an owner of property within the city limits. To serve on the Downtown Development Authority, the applicant must reside within the DDA area, or hold an interest in property located in the DDA area.

Those interested in serving should submit an application to the City of Houghton Clerk, P.O. Box 606, Houghton, MI 49931. The deadline for applications is Friday, December 9, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. Applications are available on the city’s website.

The council will make the appointments at its meeting on December 14, 2022.
