Officials say they are 35-year-old Jennifer Rajala of Covington, and 30-year-old Lacey Rajala of Chassell.

They were passengers in a vehicle that investigators say blew past the stop sign at the intersection of the Chassell-Painesdale Road and US-41 around 2:20 in the morning, traveled through a parking lot, and crashed into a wooded area.

The driver of the vehicle is identified as 34-year-old Ryan Orzechowicz of Covington. Orzechowicz is being held in the Houghton County jail, and faces two counts of Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death, and two counts of Reckless Driving Causing Death.
