Ceremony Will Honor POW/MIA’s

A former POW from Houghton will be among five special guests to be honored at a ceremony in Iron Mountain.

The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center will be holding a National POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremony this Friday at 11am Central Time.

The event will take place at the Pine Grove Country Club and is open to the public.

The ceremony will pay tribute to America’s former prisoners of war who live in the Upper Peninsula and Northeast Wisconsin and those killed or still missing in action.

The ceremony will include a keynote speaker plus music and readings, Color Guard by American Legion Post 50 and taps.

A private luncheon for the former POWs and their families will follow the ceremony.

Pine Grove Country Club is located at 1520 W Hughitt Street in Iron Mountain, Michigan.
