CEO Lang Leaving U.P. Health System–Portage

Chief Executive Officer of UPHS – Portage Jeff Lang will be leaving his position effective August 31st.

Lang held the CEO position for two years and will be leaving to take on a new position with a different organization, according to a press release.

UPHS – Portage has already named Roy Vinson as interim CEO.

Vinson is a Life Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has more than 40 years of healthcare management experience and expertise in the Upper Peninsula.

The press release also states that Vinson is skilled at guiding top hospitals through leadership transitions.

Vinson will be on site starting August 14th.

Jeff Lang, chief executive officer (CEO) of UPHS – Portage, will be leaving UPHS – Portage, effective August 31st, in order to take on a new position with a different organization. We are grateful for Mr. Lang’s leadership and service the past two years and wish him all the best going forward.

To ensure a smooth leadership transition, Roy Vinson, LFACHE, has been named interim CEO, and will be on site starting August 14th. Vinson brings more than 40 years of healthcare management experience and expertise to the UP, and is particularly skilled at guiding hospitals through leadership transitions. We appreciate his willingness to serve our hospital and community, and are confident that his guidance will allow for a seamless transition.

We also realize that this is an important change for our hospital and our community, and we will keep the community informed of our progress as we search for the right person to lead UPHS – Portage forward. Thank you for your continued support.
