CCISD Will Keep Superintendent Search In-House

The Copper Country Intermediate School District will conduct its own search for a new superintendent.

Rather than hire a search firm, the board decided this week to post the application on the ISD website, and on the website of the Michigan Association of School Administrators. Ads will also be placed in newspapers across the Upper Peninsula.

The application deadline was set for January 15th.

Current Superintendent George Stockero will retire at the end of the school year.

The CCISD board also accepted several other retirements at this week’s meeting, including special education teacher Susan Baratono, paraprofessional Donna Sporbert, and school psychologist Gwen Stockwell.
