Catholics Must Wear A Mask To Attend Indoor Mass

*UPDATE* Church of the Resurrection in Hancock, has updated their Mass schedule.

You will need a mask to attend indoor Catholic Mass services starting Saturday.

This from a press release from Bishop John Doerfler with the Marquette Diocese.

The order is U.P. Wide.

Anyone over age 5, must mask up, in response to the increase of COVID-19 cases in the U.P.

Doerfler said that research that masks actually slow the spread of COVID-19, is inconclusive, but that evidence suggests that a mask will limit the spread of the disease.

Priests are not required to wear masks while conducting mass, but do so when they are administering communion or in close proximity to the congregation.

You’re urged to stay home and livestream mass, if you’re unable to wear a mask.

Doerfler closed by saying he recognizes everyone’s sacrifice, and prays for the time we can all worship together again.
