While there aren’t enough wolves on Isle Royale, many believe there are far too many in the Upper Peninsula.
Recent legislation has opened the way again for the possible hunting of wolves in the U.P.
State Senator Tom Casperson says that corrects an issue with the original legislation.
Casperson said they removed that provision but wolves remain on the endangered species list, something the Senator believes will be changed in Washington.
Casperson said it’s hypocritical to support playing a role in controlling the wolf population on Isle Royale but not on the mainland.
