This year marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution that granted women the right to vote.

To honor the centennial, a special exhibit detailing the suffrage movement has been brought from downstate to the Carnegie Museum by the League of Women Voters and RiseUP Keweenaw.
Faith Morrison says this will be the “Petticoat Patriots” only display in the Upper Peninsula…
An opening reception will be held at the museum this evening between 6:30 and 8:00. You can see the exhibit, and enjoy refreshments, a display by the Friends of Fashion, and music from the Suffragist Singers…
There is no charge to attend tonight’s reception.
The display will continue through March 27th, and can be viewed at no charge during the Carnegie’s regular hours.
