CareerFEST Continues With Three Events This Week

Michigan Tech’s CareerFEST continues this week with multiple events.

Georgia-Pacific In the Tent Day— 10 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 13).

Located in the CareerFEST Tent, Georgia-Pacific representatives from manufacturing, corporate engineering and R&D will be on hand. This is a casual, no-pressure event to learn more about the career opportunities GP can provide.

Robotics and Controls Day— 11 a.m Wednesday (Sept. 14).  Robotics and controls are everywhere—manufacturing, engines, medicines and more. Students will learn how these marvels make everything work and speak with industry reps about their companies and job opportunities. Located in the CareerFEST Tent. Participating companies include Kimberly-Clark, Plexus, Georgia-Pacific, Miller Welders, Whirlpool, Leidos and Industrial Control.

Energy Day— 11 a.m. Friday (Sept. 16). Students will learn about the diverse aspects of the energy industry, including oil and gas, electric and alternative energies. Company reps will be there to tell you about their industry, company and job opportunities. Located in the Campus Mall and CareerFEST Tent. Participating companies include Marathon, DTE Energy, Wolverine Power Cooperative, WEC Energy Group, ITC, MISO, ATC, MacLean-Fogg, Systems Control, Detroit Stoker Company, Flint Hills Resources, HDR Inc., and Motenson Construction.

Other Industry Days coming up in September include PCA Career Day (Sept. 23), Business Career Day (Sept. 19) and Steel Day (Sept. 21).

CareerFEST events all lead up to the semi-annual Career Fair, Tuesday, Sept. 27. To date, 300 companies have signed up to participate in Career Fair so far.
