A 19-year-old Calumet man is recovering after being injured in an automobile accident on Saturday.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post responded to the accident just before 4:30pm on US-41 about one mile north of Lac La Belle Road.
Troopers say the driver was headed northbound in a Ford Fusion when he left the roadway and hit a tree.
He was taken to Aspirus Keweenaw hospital by Mercy Ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.
Authorities say alcohol was not a factor in the crash though the crash remains under investigation.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by passerby’s, the Lac La Belle first responders, Lac La Bell fire, Copper Harbor first responders, Mercy Ambulance, and Patriot Towing.
