Calumet Family Health Center Welcomes New Primary Care Provider

frimodig-adamCalumet, MI – Adam Frimodig, DO, joins Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center’s (UGL) team of primary care providers at the Calumet Family Health Center.

After graduating from Calumet High School, Dr. Frimodig went to Michigan State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree. He then went on to the Chicago College of Osteopathic, to become a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).  After completing his residency at St. Joseph Mercy in Brighton, MI, Dr. Frimodig decided to return to the Keweenaw to provide primary care in his home town.

Dr. Frimodig’s family has a long history in the Calumet area. “I am a Keweenaw boy born and raised,” said Dr. Frimodig. “I knew from day one when I went to school that I would return to the Keweenaw. I love the area and the people.” He enjoys being outside in the Keweenaw, playing and coaching sports, hunting and fishing, working with cognitively impaired and volunteering.

For the past 11 years, Dr. Frimodig has been a part of the Special Olympics’ medical team. He worked with a variety of medical professionals providing first aide and medical care for the athletes and volunteers.

“I love just about every aspect of medicine.” said Dr. Frimodig.  “I have a natural gift to get along with people from different backgrounds.”  Being a family practice provider allows him to experience a wide range of medical care and work with a variety of people.

Dr. Frimodig is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.
