Bridgefest is here! We are excited to bring the community a great weekend full of family-friendly events. Bridgefest was organized to celebrate the Portage Lake Lift Bridge, which officially opened in 1959. The Bridge is a vital link between the communities of Houghton and Hancock, and is a gateway to the rest of the historic Keweenaw Peninsula.
Community events like this require a lot of volunteers! Here’s a few opportunities we have available:
- Friday 8-12 working perimeter at the park
- Saturday 12-3, 3-5, or 5-7 helping with the inflatables that will be setup in the park
- Saturday 6-9, 8-11 or 10-12 working perimeter at the park
