Reservations are now being accepted for trips to Isle Royale.
Isle Royale National Park is encouraging people to book their Isle Royale Adventure now, utilizing one of 5 different ways to reach the remote island.
The Ranger III docks at the park headquarters in Houghton and is the largest passenger ferry providing service to and from the island.
The ferry operates from May 29th to September 15th between Houghton and Rock Harbor on the northeast end of Isle Royale National Park.
Guests have the option of taking their canoe, kayak or even up to a 20 foot motorboat for an additional fee.
Reservations will be processed in spring in the order they were received.
Other methods of travel to the island include the Isle Royale Queen IV from Copper Harbor and Isle Royal Seaplanes, flying out of Hancock.
Two other ferries operate out of Minnesota.
