There are two proposals that will appear in some voting districts in the Copper Country next month.
The Village of Calumet is asking residents to approve a Capital Improvement Bond Proposal in the amount of $500,000.
The funds would be used to pay for snow removal and street maintenance equipment, as well as a new public works garage.
The 30-year bond would be paid off from the general funds of the village.
Residents in the Dollar Bay-Tamarack City Area School District will vote on a Bonding Proposal for the school in the amount of $4.6 million.
If approved…the money would be used for upgrades to the building and other improvements.
The bond would be paid by a millage increase of 4.2 mills for 21 years.
The next election will be held Tuesday, August 6th. To see the ballot language on either of these proposals, visit https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/
