The search for a missing Hancock man is over.
Authorities were called out to the Portage Canal near the Kestner Waterfront Park in Houghton Sunday afternoon on a report that a body had been found.
A post on the Help Find Duane Kangas Facebook page confirmed the identity of the body to be that of 38-year-old Hancock Duane Kangas, who was reported missing last November.
Kangas was last seen at the Krist gas station when he dropped his wife off at work.
There’s been no word on what happened to the black 1996 Olds Bravada Kangas was reportedly driving when he disappeared.
An autopsy will be conducted.
