Bergman Mute on Debate Request

Republican U.S. Representative Jack Bergman has not responded to a request from his upcoming election opponent that the two meet in a series of televised debates. 

Democratic challenger Dr. Robert Lorinser had suggested three such events, and had asked Bergman to agree in principle by July 4th.

In a release Tuesday, Lorinser said he is “disappointed, but not surprised.”
