Be Aware Of Local Fireworks Restrictions

With the Fourth of July only a week away, many residents will be enjoying fireworks on their own property.

New laws now give local communities a greater ability to regulate the use of those fireworks.

Local governments can reduce the number of days and limit the hours fireworks can be set off.

They can restrict the use of fireworks except for a handful of days throughout the year after 11:00 am, including New Years Eve until 1:00 am on January 1st–the Saturday and Sundays right before Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend until 11:45 pm–and from June 29th to July 4th until 11:45 pm.

Residents should contact their local municipality for details on any restrictions.
