Auto Equipment Donated To CCISD CTE Program

The Copper Country Intermediate School District Board of Education held its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 26, 2017.

At the beginning of every year, the CCISD likes to recognize staff for years of service. At last night’s Board meeting, Superintendent George Stockero presented Board Member Lisa Tarvainen with a plaque in recognition of her 10 years of service to the CCISD Board.  Stockero thanked Mrs. Tarvainen for her dedication to our students.

Stockero also explained that the CCISD also gives out awards for 15 years of service, 20 years, 25 years and so on.  Superintendent Stockero asked Peggy Myllyoja, the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent to attend the Board meeting, because the Board wanted to give her special recognition for 40 years of service.  The Board presented Ms. Myllyoja with a bouquet of flowers, a round of applause and many thanks. Board Vice President, Nels Christopherson stated that since he has been on the Board, Ms. Mylloyja has trained in three Superintendents.

Auto Tech Teacher David Narhi and Auto Tech Assistant Jeff LaMuth with Equipment-Donation

Superintendent Stockero informed the Board that new Auto Tech Teacher David Narhi and Auto Tech Assistant Jeff LaMuth (pictured) were excited to show off some items that were donated by a local anonymous source.   These items include several front differential assemblies, two axle shaft assemblies and two complete and working disk brake and wheel bearing assemblies. These items will be great teaching tools for the Auto Tech class and are all in perfect condition.

Superintendent George Stockero said that the donating group was happy that the items will be repurposed and useful to the CTE programs at the Copper County ISD.  He also added that the donation included some strong metal tables, which will be an asset to the new Welding program that the CCISD will be implementing next school year. We are very fortunate to live in a community that is willing to share resources to help our students.

The Board also acted on the following:
