Attorney General Nessell Warns Online Retailers

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has joined Attorneys General from several other states, in warning Online Marketplaces such as Amazon, Facebook, eBay, Craigslist and Walmart that they aren’t exempt from price gouging.

In the press release, Nessell urged online retailers to remain vigilant in monitoring their sites for instances of price gouging.

Nessell also added “Online marketplaces continue to grow in popularity for consumers, and we are noticing an increase in price gouging practices online just as we have at true brick and mortar stores.”

She also called for online retailers to take common sense measures to protect consumers from wrongfully inflated prices.
