Assessment Approved For Otter Lake Dam Expenses

The Houghton County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution for the Otter Lake Special Assessment District at their October meeting Tuesday.

Houghton County Drain Commissioner John Pekkala said the assessment is for costs incurred since 2014 for maintenance on the Otter Lake Dam.

He said the bulk of those costs were in relation to the use and draw down of the dam, engineering fees and legal fees and other expenses.

The district will be assessed $31,750.57 to recoup those expenses.
