An assault suspect was captured yesterday afternoon in a wooded area in Ontonagon County.
Sheriff’s deputies were assisted by Michigan State Police troopers and canine units, and Michigan DNR officers in tracking down the individual.
The suspect was wanted in conjunction with an alleged assault that took place early yesterday morning on US Highway 45.
The suspect was taken to Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital by SONCO EMS for a medical evaluation.
An investigation continues.
