Aspirus Keweenaw welcomes Board Certified Sports Medicine Physician Dr. Colleen Dupuis

The following press release was issued by Aspirus Keweenaw:

LAURIUM, Mich. – Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital & Clinics is pleased to welcome Board Certified Sports Medicine Physician Colleen Dupuis, DO. Dr. Dupuis joins Aspirus’ growing orthopedic team and specializes in comprehensive, non-surgical treatments for a wide range of orthopedic and sports-related conditions, from routine sprains and strains to concussions, fractures, and arthritis. She is now seeing patients at the Aspirus Houghton Clinic.

Dr. Dupuis’ focus is on helping people of all ages and activity levels live their lives as healthy and injury-free as possible. She is especially passionate about working with the pediatric and adolescent patient populations, and enjoys getting out into the community to teach safe sports practices to young athletes.

At the heart of Dr. Dupuis’ care approach is working with her patients as a team for the best outcomes.

“Patients have the best outcomes when we work together and keep the lines of communication open,” she said. “It’s so important for patients to understand exactly what is going on with their health and what kinds of treatment and healing options are available to them so they can make the best decisions for the best results.”

Dr. Dupuis comes to the Keweenaw from Loveland, Colorado, where she was a Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician for Banner Health Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. She also worked as a Family Medicine and Sports Medicine Physician for Banner Medical Group and held a faculty position instructing the Sports Medicine Elective at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Dupuis is Board Certified in both Primary Care Sports Medicine and Family Medicine. She earned her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her Sports Medicine Fellowship at Michigan State University/Sparrow Hospital. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at Vidant Medical Center – East Carolina University. Professional affiliations include the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the American Academy of Family Practice.

Active with sports her entire life, Dr. Dupuis’ career path in medicine simply came naturally. She is excited to continue delivering the highest levels of care and compassion for patients at Aspirus.
